From the w/c 18th July there will be a change in practice access

The phone lines will remain open as follows:

Monday – Friday

  • 08.00am to 12.30pm telephone lines open
  • 12.30 – 13.30pm telephone lines closed
  • 13.30pm to 18.30pm telephone lines open

Access to practice:

Monday – Friday

  • 08.00am – 13.00pm Practice open
  • 13.00pm – 14.00pm Practice Closed
  • 14.00pm – 18.30pm Practice open

The practice will continue to close 1 Wednesday afternoon every month please see these dates on our opening times. This is used across the NHS for all teams to complete training.

We are closed one Wednesday afternoon every month on the below dates.

Non-urgent advice: GP Extended Access
– making it easier to get a GP appointment at a time that suits you

Do you find it difficult to attend an appointment during the working day?

Are you a busy parent with small children?

Or do you rely on working carers to take you to appointments?
The East Northants GP Extended Access service makes it easier for you to book an appointment with a local GP or other healthcare professional at a time that is more convenient, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Appointments are available in Rushden.

When are appointments in my area available?

Harborough Fields Surgery:
18:30 – 20:00 Monday to Friday
09:00 – 17:00 Saturday
 
The Cottons Medical Centre:
18:30 – 20:00 Wednesday
08:00 – 12:00 Saturday
 
If you would prefer to see your usual GP or practice nurse, please book an appointment with the practice during normal opening hours.

What type of appointments are available?
A range of appointments are available through the service, including the following:

GP – routine GP Appointments & test results
Nurse Practitioner– acute minor illness
Practice Nurse – Family planning, Blood pressure checks, foot pulses check, ear syringing
Pharmacist– for minor illnesses
Treatment Room Nurse
Mental Health Practitioner

Where will I be seen?
All appointments for the East Northants GP Extended Access Service are available at Harborough Field Surgery, 160 Newton Road, Rushden, NN10 0GP & Also The Cottons Medical Centre on specific days.

Ask us about GP Extended Access. When your practice is closed please contact NHS 111 if you require health support or advice.

For support with the management of minor ailments, please contact your local pharmacist or visit the NHS website.

Patients will still need to contact their GP practice in the usual way to request an appointment.  If there is no appointment available at the practice, patients may be offered an appointment with the GP Extended Access Service, if this is right for them.
