Appointments

Appointments System

All appointments are to be booked through Anima using the link below:

If you don’t have access to online or smart phone please call the surgery and they shall create the request through Anima for you.

Once your triage request has been put through it will come through to the surgery and will be triaged by a GP. The surgery will then contact you with an outcome, either by call or text.

We will always try to give you the GP of your choice but this is not always possible on the day of your appointment. If you feel you wish to see a particular GP you may have to wait longer than usual.

For any help with Anima please visit following link: Anima for Patients: how to access Anima

Acute/Emergency Clinics

This service is for acute problems (ongoing for less than a week).

If a clinician feels that your problem is not acute you will be asked to book a routine appointment. The acute clinic is not set up for ongoing, chronic, conditions.

Multiple Appointments

Generally GPs will deal with only one problem during your ten minute consultation. Multiple problems will require longer appointments, in order to ensure parity of treatment for all patients.

Chaperone Policy

Consideration is always given to a patients’ privacy and all consulting rooms have curtained areas for undressing. During routine appointment times patients’ may request a chaperone where examination involves intimate areas.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10.30am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
